Cinnamon Bear Lodge

Cool summer breezes and sweeping views of Lake Mitchell await you at Cinnamon Bear Lodge. The new owners discovered a diamond in the rough when they purchased this splendid, but neglected property. Not only have all the mechanicals been updated, but the house has a new roof, new siding and new landscaping. A year long renovation with great attention to detail has turned the property into a lovely, comfortable lake home.

On first view, Cinnamon Bear Lodge seems to be quite large, but all of the rooms are on one floor and each one is cozy. The living space is spacious and inviting. We think you will be drawn to the smaller sitting area at sunrise or sunset. It has a wonderful view of the lake and is perfect for reading and bird watching. Take a quick nap, relax with your family, or share a glass of wine with friends on the large comfy sectional in front of the fieldstone fireplace.

Be certain to look at the photos of the charming robin’s egg blue kitchen, another labor of love. It features retro appliances and a Hoosier cabinet. Both preparation and clean up will be easy with space for all helpers. In the dining room you’ll feel as though you are sitting in the treetops with a splendid view of the lake. The old fashioned table has seating for eight hungry guests.

Just down the hall from the living room are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, while the one has a full sized bed. Both bedrooms have lake views. There are two bathrooms, one across from each bedroom. Both have showers. There is a laundry conveniently located in one of the bathrooms.

The lake home sits high on a bank with a winding path combined with steps to reach the dock. The lake bottom is sandy with a very gradual drop off past the large dock. Mitchell Lake is great for all water activities, yet because it is less populated than others, you will be able to have quiet times as well.

My first cup of coffee will be on the long dock at lakeside.

Another special feature of this property is the carriage house which is situated behind the lodge and on top of the garage. The decorating scheme of cherry red, blue with touches of yellow is charming and the arrangement is very efficient. This would be ideal if you need additional space for another couple or for your giggling teenagers. The carriage house has its own bathroom with a tub (no shower) and darling little kitchen, complete with sink, stove, refrigerator and microwave. The studio style great room has a dinette set, a fireplace, a sitting area and sleeping area. The bed is queen size.

The Carriage House may be rented in combination with the Lodge only.
