Your journey to this quaint cottage is the first promise of a delightful experience. At the end of a winding, paved path through six acres of wooded land you will find the beautiful clearing and “Whispering Pines”.

Children and adults alike will enjoy the generous level yard for playing a round of Frisbee or summer tag. Twenty-seven steps lead down to the lake and dock. But relax awhile, pull up a chair and enjoy the view of Gull Lake.

This two bedroom cottage is one of the few original log cabins in the lakes area. The home-owners have preserved all of the charm of the original log-cabin while including modern furnishings for your comfort.

The paneling in the living room, kitchen and dining room has been painted a crisp white. The combination of hunting and fishing trophies, the comfy sofa, and the cottage print curtains, create an authentic “up-north” décor. The gleaming pine floors and scatter rugs further enhance the style. The stone fireplace will make you wish for one cool evening to build a fire. A VCR is also provided.

The front porch has been converted into a cozy master bedroom and sitting area. The original log walls, knotty pine siding, and cottage print curtains create a feeling of warmth and comfort. The bed is queen sized. A second bedroom, off the living room, has a double sized, pine bunk bed.

Just when you begin to wonder “how can this get any cuter” you’ll spy the guest quarters – a caboose! Perfect for older children. Snuggled into the caboose are four single sleeping compartments. The kids might even choose to sneak off to play table games or eat a meal at the little table inside. And no need to run into the cottage in the middle of the night as the caboose has its own bathroom.

I’m going to take my first cup of coffee to the double deck chair overlooking the lake. The birds and I will welcome the morning.
